FREEDM supports the EV Challenge, a high school competition to energize students about engineering through a real world electric vehicle program. Student teams build small-scale, plug-in electric go carts; compete against the clock in autocross, acceleration, and range events; test their EV knowledge in a quiz bowl; and race the clock to solve a hands-on, electrical problem with a standard troubleshooting board. All this happens on Saturday, March 7, at the RTP Foundation in Research Triangle Park, NC. Spectators and volunteers are asked to register on their website here.
