Every spring, eager high school students and their families walk through the Engineering Oval on Centennial Campus trying to learn as much as they can about what it would be like to attend NC State and major in an engineering discipline. FREEDM is there as well to showcase our research and get them excited about working in power electronics and power systems. This year Shweta Meena and Ujjwal Pratik helped Ken Dulaney, our Industry Liaison, staff the booth. They presented our work in microgrid controls, how gate drivers work, and described the path from silicon carbide wafer to power module.
